In the last few days I’ve been thinking about how big of an impact it makes in your life
when people believe in you.
Growing up, I tried A LOT of things. I wanted to play piano. I wanted to be a skateboarder. I wanted to be the best in breakdancing.
I wanted to rap. I wanted to sing. And always, ALWAYS, my parents believed in me.
They gave me room to grow, to make mistakes. When everything went well, they were there.
When everything fell apart, they were there with their shoulders to cry on.
I couldn’t have asked for more.
When some people doubted my decision of going full time with photography, they didn’t. They were happy for me.
I’m sure they were worried as well, but they didn’t doubt me.
They are the ones raving about us when they meet their friends. I’m sure they have exaggerated their stories a lot,
at least based on some comments we’ve heard! :)
Guess that’s the right that is handed to you when you become a parent.
But sometimes they make me realize that I have accomplished a lot.
A lot more than I ever thought I would
even though I’ve always known anything’s possible when you work hard.
I wouldn’t be here without my Dad’s old film camera. I wouldn’t be here if they hadn’t bought me my own
cameras when I was younger.
I believe that everything happens for a reason and life brings people in your life for a reason.
Like Emilie and Zack.
I believe that the best things come when people believe in you.
When they don’t try to limit you.
I still need to pinch myself from time to time.
I was in Iceland. Photographing. Not just mountains.
But two people in love.
IN ICELAND. The country I’ve dreamed of for SO LONG.
It’s been a small dream, sometimes buried deep inside my heart.
But since one special email we received, it grew and grew and came true.
Thank you. For believing in me & Jouni and for making our dreams come true.
Their wedding will be up on the blog later this week, but for now
let’s start with their engagement session.
Here’s Emilie & Zack and their (pretty awesome) day in Iceland.
