Last year I listed my favorite Christmas music and this year it’s time for my favorite Christmas movies and shows. There’s a few of them I can’t live without and if I don’t see them, there’s no Christmas for me. This year has been sort of a weird year for me, because usually I start my Christmas at some point in November but now I’m still decorating our home and (GASP!) I haven’t even listened to any Christmas music yet! I watched my first Christmas movie yesterday and I’ve been slowly getting into the holiday spirit. I’m taking next week off from working so I’m determined to relax, spent time with wonderful people and sleep. And eat yummy food, of course!
For this Christmas my wish is simple; all I want for Christmas is snow. And hugs. Lots of hugs, guys.
Get into holiday spirit with my 3 favorite movies.

NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION (1989)
Definitely my favorite in the comedy genre. I can’t remember when I saw this movie the first time, but it’s been my favorite from early childhood. What’s not to love about it? Some say this is the worst kind of bad jokes, but you know, I’m kind of in love with comedies made in 1980’s. Maybe because I was made in 1980’s as well!
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946)
Sometimes I watch this one even when it’s not Christmas. This movie is beyond adorable, makes you think and hopefully appreciate yourself in a new way. Everything would be different if you didn’t exist. And every time the Angel gets wings, I cry a bit. Old black & white movies have a special place in my heart, and this is by far my favorite. Ever.
THE SNOWMAN (1982)
This lovely short animation is on TV every year on Christmas Eve morning and it’s my tradition to watch it every year. This is the MUST one on this list. A magical adventure that my inner child loves, for always. There’s been a few years when I have missed it and those Christmases haven’t been the same.
And as a bonus, the sequel to this short movie is called The Snowman and The Snowdog. Let me just say that I balled like a little baby when watching it for the first time. Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you! (The only thing that ruined the sequel a bit for me was an added Finnish song that I absolutely hated. But otherwise, a good sequel. Not as good as the first one, but you know. Sequels hardly ever are better than the first ones.)
EDIT: Can’t believe I forgot this one completely! So as a second bonus;
I’ve heard people raving about this movie for ages, but I watched it first time last year when I woke up too early in the morning and needed something to keep me awake while working. Little did I think that it would become one of my favorite movies EVER. This world needs romance and less violence, laughs and tears and innocence and this movies is just perfect combination of everything sweet.

I’m also looking for new (and old!) movies to watch, so please, list your favorite ones in comments and broaden my holiday spirit search!
