WHAT WAS 2015?
It was a year that made me think more and step outside my comfort zone. It was a year that made me question a lot of things. It left me completely exhausted at some times but extremely fulfilled at other times. It made me climb mountains, both real and figurative ones. It was the hardest year I’ve had to go through emotionally and it made me grow, made me trust myself more and it made me stronger.
Life has a way of throwing hardship on our way, especially at times when you feel like you can’t possibly take anything more to carry on your shoulders. Sometimes you feel like you want to crawl someplace to hide and never come out. But when you’re strong enough and continue to believe through it all, you’ll come out stronger than you ever thought you could be. 2015 taught me to trust. It taught me that no matter what, everything will work out.
2015 also taught me that I can’t compete with algorithms and there’s no point in yelling on rooftops, trying to get attention. If what I do doesn’t come from the heart, there’s no point in continuing using social media. Every time I pick up my camera, I pour my heart & soul into every single frame I take. Without heart there’s no emotion and that is something I want our photos, blog posts & social media feeds to reflect. Heart & soul, all the way. We are human, and so are our photos. I may sometimes take photos that no-one will “like”, and I’ve finally realized that it’s OK. We’re not here to please everyone, thank God for that.
These photos reflect what 2015 was for us. There’s photos from weddings, travel, cats, families and so on. From weddings we photographed together and separately. There’s a lot of them since 2015 was a big year; if you go through them all, awesome. If not, that’s fine as well. Thank you for walking with us on our journey and we hope that during 2016, this blog becomes a place where everyone can come and visit because it’s a place where everyone can be who they are. To take a second away from trying to be perfect.
