“Solitude is the soul’s holiday, an opportunity to stop doing for others and to surprise and delight ourselves instead.
In solitude, we discover what makes us feel alive.”
~ Katrina Kenison
Iceland makes me feel alive. A country where only about 1 % is inhabited forces you to be alone with yourself.
It’s a country where sheep run free and come to wake you up outside your tent in the morning.
Where the wind shapes the sticks in your tent to a completely different shape. Where there’s so many amazing waterfalls that you’ll lost count.
Where you can swim in a remote warm pool in the middle of mountains.
Where roads are so empty that it feels like you’re the only one in the world.
Iceland is what it is. It never apologizes.
As we will never apologize for being us.
And once again I came home refreshed, ready to take on whatever challenges life throws on my path next time.
Iceland has helped me to find my voice. It has always been there, but now it’s so much louder.
