Snow. Chilly wind. Foggy. Freezing temperatures.
That was what was going on when Kaarina & Kari eloped in Saariselkä, that is located in the Northern part of Finland or as we usually call it, Lapland. When we arrived, it was still clear and we were able to see the landscapes. But the next day it was a whole another story. But that’s what happens when you’re dealing with nature; you can have all those ideas in your head but then weather isn’t co-operating with you. You could be angry, but what’s the point? You can take that weather that is dealt for you and make the most out of it. And that we did.
It’s always been my longtime dream to photograph weddings in Lapland as I used to spend a lot of time there while I was younger. The whole area is in my opinion one of the prettiest part of Finland. It makes me so happy to think that this year I will be traveling there for the second time and this time we’ll be in Ylläs, the home of my childhood skiing vacations. But that will be another story for another day. <3
But now, here’s a little glimpse to this lovely elopement in the heart of Saariselkä winter wonderland. Just the three of them and one little secret traveler. <3
