When we’re at home, it’s usually Selma who wants to go outside to the balcony when it’s cold and chilly. There she sits patiently, sniffing the air, watching birds flying and chirping. Sylvi sits inside, watching outside. Sometimes she takes a few steps outside and comes back inside quicker than with a speed of light. She seems to hate the cold.
Last weekend we stayed at the cottage when we traveled to photograph a wedding nearby. We took Sylvi & Selma with us for the first time. Bought them new collars; black one with pink and yellow kitties for Sylvi (because she’s a bad ass) and pink one with blue and yellow kitties for Selma (because she’s a princess). Jingle filled the place while they were scurrying around, wondering where they are. Once they realized they could go outside, their roles were reversed. Selma didn’t want to stay outside but Sylvi wanted to go there all the time. And she even took a little walk down the road… until she realized she couldn’t see me anymore. She ran back quickly while her meows filled the air. Selma was much happier sitting patiently inside, watching the birds fly by.
They’ve become so dear to us and it’s nice to notice that they fit right into our lifestyle. They’re not afraid of traveling; four big eyes are staring back at us from the backseat, wondering where we’re taking them this time.
Never stop exploring – that’s the theme for the four of us this year.
